The Osceola County Tombstone Inscriptions, published by the Osceola County Genealogical Society lists Charlotte's date of death as Feb 6, 1858, aged 31 years, 5 months, 28 days. The headstone shows a death date of 1958. The stone itself was made out of a cement block. The name and dates were painted on, and both birth and death dates were listed.
We list the dates on the headstone, and believe them, since the Hartwick area was not settled until the late 1860's and early 1870's.
